Good Shops In So-Cal?

So-Cal... Specifically The San Fernando Valley but I am willing to travel anywhere around Los Angeles County.


To check out my 80 series, any of you guys can direct me to a shop that has a mechanic proficient in 80 series doesn't have to be a dedicated shop for the 80...

Just maybe a guy you know that owns one and also has a shop...

Or something like.

Your help is appreciated.

There is a thread floating around w/ a full list of mechanics in the lower 48, or atleast those that have been encountered. I recall seeing lots in Southern California, but I'm down in SD. I'll see if I can track it down...

Go to clubhouse section and look for Socal 80's better info, My vote for Yotamasters in Corona, but thats a ways from SF Valley, TLC is very good and very expensive. I have heard of a shop in the Valley that is very well recomended, saw it in the Socal 80s section.

K & H Imports in Canoga park. Richard has been working on cruisers for years. he's a pretty decent mechanic, and he's done some headgaskets on the 80 series, so he does know the trucks.

My vote for Yotamasters in Corona, but thats a ways from SF Valley, TLC is very good and very expensive.

I've heard lots of good things about K&H and they are close to you.

If you need to re-gear, have some fabrication done, welding or plain old service, I recommend Yotamasters. Jay is wicked quick working with differentials.

I've been taking both our 80's there for the last year. It's a drive, but they do great work. Most everything so far, I just arrange a morning to go there and they get everything done while I wait. There's a gun shop in the next building so there's something to do while you wait.

If you are looking to get work done on your rig, i.e. fabrication bumpers, sliders, etc. HANDS DOWN the best spot is Bengels Offroad in San Diego. It is a drive, but if you want your rig to look right and built tough this is the only place I would take my 80 to be worked on in So Cal. Give Bob a call down there and he'll take care of you. What ever you do, do not get any fab work done at LINK motorsports in El Segundo, I don't like to call out anyone, but the truth speaks loudly and they did not do a good job on my rig and I'm still paying for it years later.
