I have owned a 2002 Land Cruiser for a while now.I am looking at 2008 GX 470 with 115000 seller is asking $16000.Looks good with decent service records.Dont know much about the GX.
Is this a good price?

Did it spend its entire life in the Northeast? Rust can be a big issue with the GX and its my understanding that it's best to avoid those with extensive rust. Mileage is less important.
Have the timing belt and water pump been changed?

All maintenance seems to be up to date.At 100k miles new timing belt, water pump, alternator, belts, antifreeze. Prior to that new rear air suspension, brake pads/rotors.

Good price if no wrecks and rust free.

Agreed that is a good price. Just get under it and take some photos.

I paid 14K a year ago for an 08 with 209K miles. Granted it was in really nice condition, well maintained, and no rust.

A 2007 GX470 with low miles, no rust, well maintained, with basic lift, roof rack, method wheels, and KO2s in 285/70R17 sold for about $34k at a specialty car lot in San Diego California. Crazy but true. And they are selling like hot cakes in cold rainy day.

And prices are up from earlier this year when I complained that they were selling in the mid to high 20s. These are turn key and read to hit the trails. I only wish I was related to this money making specialty shop. 2007 Lexus GX 470 | miramarmotorsports - https://www.mmsportinc.com/product-page/2007-lexus-gx-470-23

It reminds me of a dealership close to where Im at in Jacksonville FL. I guess they specialize in LX, GX etc as every one on their lot is mid 30k.

Prices for GX's and LC's are bananas right now. If I didn't like mine so much I'd sell it trail-ready at a nice profit. I still casually surf Craigslist hoping to find one to flip but there just aren't that many of them around in my region, period.

The issue I have with some of those "trail ready" used car dealer builds is they are often nothing more than a low/mid-range lift and nice wheels/tires. No skidplates, no rock sliders, no recovery points, no lockers, no engine upgrades. They might look great but fall a bit short given the markup and price that is not far off from a brand-new T4R OR or TRD Pro.

Those dealers build for posers which is a huge market.... like 90% of any "rigs" out there. You wanna see some stupid mods on vehicles that are terrible off road to begin with (f350s)? Hang out at 4Wheelparts parking lot for 15 minutes.

The shop in San Diego does do the timing belt, water pump, coil conversion, CV axles, in addition to the eye candy (basic lift, wheels, tires). So, gotta give them credit for that. They take care of the big items that sell for a profit.

What's not included is all the TLC that I've given mine like the lipstick (clear rear lenses, cup holders, window trim, speaker repairs/replacements, running board gap cover from Designwerks), the cosmetic surgery (TRD wanna-be grille, new front leather seats, Gobi ladder), and the colonoscopy (new catalytic converters, alternator, and radiator). This doesn't even include the knee replacement surgery (LCAs, UCAs, skid plates, rock sliders).

Used car prices soaring in the past year definitely have not helped! But I could easily sell my GX for profit, but no way in hell I'm doing that.
