Just purchased a new chrome grille from Toyota and upon receipt noticed that the grille was actually gold chrome. Is this a defect or did these grilles come on specific options/packages?

Yes, gold chromes are available on GCC vehicles. What was the part number of the grille you got?
Converting too all gold chrome isn't possible anymore as the gold chrome parts around the headlights are now discontinued.

GCC is the middle east spec.
The part number is correct for silver chrome. 53101-60140 is gold chrome.
The rest of the gold chrome parts are long gone I'm afraid. I tried to get a complete set for my truck but came up short.
