Going wider

It looks like I'm finally going to be able to put 60 axles under my 40. I've already got the axles lined up and now I have the cash to get them so after the August run I'll be starting the tear down and build up. Any advise will be appreciated.

Advice? Go with 80 axles.

I guess that would entail a bunch more fab work- but think about it, instead of cutting off the coil and control arm mounts, you could add them to your frame...

But seriously, keep us posted, maybe some pics.

start thinking now if you want to cut into the front axle, or outboard the front springs. i have seen it done both ways and either works fine.

F-SO! It's WAY overrated. Go 4 link in the rear and spring under in the front. There's a reason Tracy Jordan's rig did so well for so long like that.

Howdy! I would go S/O on both ends. Just build the perches up even on the front axle, then loose a little of the extra height by mounting the top of the shackles up inside the frame. You'd look good on 37's or 39's. John

Here's the links to the stuff that we talked about the other day. If you are considering a 4-link these are the products I would consider using. The only thing I didn'tadd was teh sway bar link but there's 4 or 5 available out there to choose from.

Total budget is greater than a spring over but my "personal opinion" is that the benefits are greater.

Swowie on here has a set of 80 axles for sale as well as the coils for them, just need some links and bingo.
