Wanted to get some insight about the market value of a 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser with 89,000 miles. This vehicle is equipped with locking diffs and two tone leather. Overall in great shape with some mods. as well. Arb bumper on the front and rear, winch and safari bucket on the roof. Oversized 33x15 tires and a 2 inch lift. I am thinking about buying this rig, but a little nervous about the price. Any thoughts?

use autotrader
If you do a search on autotrader with no restrictions on distance it will give you an average price of the cruisers in that year range. Add what the accessories would cost to get these 100's to where this one is and you will have your answer. It is getting harder to find a 98 with low miles.

You could also try cargurus dot com. They seem to use mostly the same ads and maybe they combine listings from a couple other sites. Sometimes I notice a short delay (a day or two?) on listing updates.
The search customization is very slick. You use a couple sliders to narrow price & mileage to exactly the range you want. You can also check or uncheck color, major options, engine or model subtypes and your field narrows or expands on the fly.
The results even offer an rating scale about how good the price is for that local market, how long it's been listed, etc.
I looked up 1998-1999 with under 120k miles and the prices were in the $13,000 range but most were stock condition. As usual, you don't always get lockers mentioned or a picture of the magic dial on years where it would be appropriate to list
