This has been in the works for a while, but after 10+ great years, we will be leaving NC for Indiana in August. The wife was offered a great professor opportunity at Purdue in West Lafayette. It was just too good to pass up.

I will be staying back here for a while to get the house ready for the market, then joining them in late August or September. I do not have a job up there yet, but have a couple good prospects.

We will miss NC (but not the heat) but will be closer to family in MN (our homeland). I will have to find another 80 for the winter up there, as I will be damned if the current one gets salted.

It was good to get to know y'all through our limited participation in a few events. Perhaps I'll have to come down for an event or two.

Take care!
Robert

Congrats to the wife, but hate to see you guys leave!

Do I need to stop drinking the water around here?

Why do all the "good" Cruiser folks keep leaving NC, all the while we can't close the floodgates of those that want to recreate the North around here? :)

Best Wishes Robert

Very sorry to hear this Robert, but hell family always takes precedence. W. Lafayette is a nice place to be, I had some great times there despite not being able to remember them :)

I'll give you a call about coming by this weekend.

Good luck to you and your family, new opportunities are always exciting. it ws good to meet you and wish you the best.

Thanks, my first/only time up there was a couple weeks ago. I was a bit worried that it may be too flat and podunk for my liking. I was pleasantly surprised though. It is quaint and homey, great place for a family, yet is big enough to have what you need. It was just flat enough to remind me of home (southern MN) but not Iowa flat. There are actually some trees there too!

Only an hour to Indianapolis and 2 to Chicago (which rocks for those who haven't been there). It will be nice to have a "real" winter for a change too.

Oh, and with 40,000 Purdue students, there will be plenty of eye candy for this dirty old man.

There is an Indiana Cruiser club too, Hoosiers Cruisers, so it can't be all that bad!

Best of luck to ya. I tried to leave this place but i guess someone up higher has something else in mind because i am stuck here. Even if i could make it to the mountains i would be really happy.

Dammit! This thread is not about the Yeti! It is about me!

Good luck with the big move Robert. If you get a chance to make it back down South, give us a shout.

Best wishes Robert. Hope all goes well and great to know the wife has a good position waiting for her there.

I have a friend interested in your 80 if you are still considering selling it btw. Almost came over monday while I was down but was eager to get home after VA and couldnt access mud for your number. Let me know if your still considering selling this one. One less giant box to pack.
