Glovebox lock brocken :(

There is a glovebox between front seats (see pic). The upper cover have a small plastick locker (N4 on the pic). The locker is brocken and the stealer said 300$ for the WHOLE console cover and WAIT for 20 days.

Maybe there is a cheaper way?

I seriously doubt you'll find an aftermarket supplier for that latch so if you don't want to ante-up for a new one (understandable) your other option is used.

I've used car-part.com successfully a few times. Perhaps you can use their search function to find a salvage yard with a good latch that they'd sell separately?

Judging by the size of the pictured center console and the misplaced $ sign, the OP is not in the US. But yeah, as Jay said, used/2nd hand is your best bet.

perhaps try to rig up a $2 magnetic cabinet door latch or maybe one of the pronged versions? seems like a good alternative to a $300 console to me. maybe a piece of velcro?

Leave the latch as it is, and add two small neodymium magnets to secure the door. Cheap, and very effective.
