Has anyone strait piped their 200 w/ a 5.7?

We did this to my son’s f150 w/the 5.4 and it sounds better than mine with exhaust, its quieter in the cab than mine, its not annoyingly loud and has zero drone.

They don’t make a full cat back for us. I’ve tried several times with emails to them, no good.

that stinks !

I Love my BORLA system its been 100% trouble free

also , a insider info. Fact:
TRD factory systems u get at the dealer are now mde by BORLA , NO longer Gibson as of about a year now
they had too many problems quality control issues ..............

good luck with your hunt

I don't mean to be rude, but are you posting in the right forum?

First you imply Borla would be a source for a cat-back exhaust for the LC200, but they don't make one. Then you imply that there is a TRD factory exhaust system for the LC200, but, again, they don't make one. Finally you imply that Gibson would be a bad choice because of quality control issues.

So ... do you have a link to an acceptable, available cat-back system for the LC200?

TIA

Gibson’s recommendation to solve the drone issue - go to your local muffler shop and have them install a resonator.

So this am went to a performance muffler shop and their perspective is that a resonator isnt going to solve the issue.
The problem is that Gibson put too small of a muffler on this kit for the size motor on the LC.

Going to take this info to Gibson and will let you know what happs next . . .

Sorry to bump an old thread, but did you ever solve the drone issue? I've heard of exhausts "breaking in" after some miles of driving, where the tone and drone of it changes, so maybe that happened for the better too. That's a pretty nice sounding exhaust, so it's a shame if it's unbearable daily.

I've heard good things about the Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator solving drone issues, depending on where you put it along the piping (placement affects what frequencies the resonator tames).

One of the other main exhaust options for the Land Cruiser 200, the Dirty Deeds Exhaust, uses a Helmholtz resonator (sometimes dual ones such as what @Mogwai has) to control drone. You can buy a third party Helmholtz resonator, such as by Synapse Engineering, and experiment with how that can control drone too.

Any word on this? Had my stock muffler cut out and a Maxflow muffler put in - too freakin loud. The Borla on my 100 was perfect. Getting close to buying a stock one to put back in or find a shop that can do a Borla.

I wish someone could pioneer a cheap diy muffler swap with some added rumble and no drone. I may give it a shot this summer but the exhaust piping configuration on the 200 doesn't make it easy.

Not looking to pay big bucks for the BAMuffler kit, but I definitely would if money were no object.
