Al - I'm sure glad you and Cheryl (sp) made the trip! I'm jealous you're so close to FN. Y'all are welcome to ride anytime. We'll work on figuring out a set of springs for you and youll be in fine shape.

Sounds good, but we'll leave the armadillo's out of this one!

Also wanted to note, when we got up to the bus on leaving, there was no air available to air up. Shelia called the store down the road, and the canoe rental place across from the store had it. Pretty interesting old guy runs it, had all kinds of questions about the park, and all the Cruisers he had seen that weekend. I told him to go meet his naibors, good people. Al

posted this on the other thread...thought it should be here too

The air at the top of the park.. I should have doublechecked.. Ron had specifically told me he was putting a pancake compressor at the bus starting Sat evening. Sorry about that I should have made you air up with my truck.
thank you everyone for comments.. Any comments, good, bad, etc are welcome.. We wanna make this better and need the info.. I've already started collecting raffle stuff for next year! :)

Al,
Can you check into wheeling in Potosi. There used to be someplace there to wheel.

I haven't had the chance to check out any of them but around Potosi there are 3 parks - Mark's Place, Big Foot Offroad, and Sayersbrook. I believe the forest roads near the Potosi section of Mark Twain are closed now to offroad vehicles.

There's also a 900 acre park about 1 hour east of Springfield MO. http://www.offrdranch.com/

The White Trash give this here gig an O'ficial MOST EXCELLENT ratin'!!

The trails spanked our Junk bad ... which gave us more drinkin' time in camp ... which is a darn-fine concept in our books.

Cheers to those that stepped up with the effort to pull 'er off ... and for lettin' me have the honor of conductin' the raffle.

I apologize to the slow readers of the lil' tickets ... but the rapid-fire format is a personal trademark and a time-proven concept ... just needed more light to ease the burden of the crowd. :frown:

The White Trash'll return next year ... with more rigs. :bounce: :bounce2:

:flamingo:

I heard the both of you were adding a few "improvements".

Yes, it's true "improvements" are on order.... It was a smoke'n deal that I couldn't pass. even though I need a turbo and clutch for the Ford first......... but it was a smoke'n deal!

Mine was not caused by breakage, however:D

Mark.. Your raffle stuff was waaaaayyy more than expected.. WOW.. I got that box and almost had to run off to the portapottie by myself.. .. Yes it got there in time.. THank you packets are being put together now..

Guys.. Where are the other posts? like Woody's pics?

About the third time KOWBOY held up a box and announced it was from Mark's 4WD I started thinking to myself...Mark's must be going out of business and he is giving away the farm!

Talk about generous!

Only about 30 min east of Springfield.

I had a very good time. Approx 665 miles each way, it only took me 11.5 hours to get home. Next time I think I will spend all my time in those creek beds, I sure do not like the side hills.

Event suggestions:
Hold raffle earlier in the day (old eyes, black numbers, and night do not work well together)
Spray cabin for roaches
Slow down in camp (I'm as guilty as anyone)
Hold driver meetings earlier in morning. I felt many new folks were waiting around "Moab style" for trail rides to begin.

Overall it was a great event. The quantity of food availalbe to all participants was outstanding.

I had an absolute blast at this event. My improvement comments are the same as others so I won't rehash em. I will say I very much enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the entire event. The "clock watchin be here at this time nazi types" and camping don't mix.

Al,
Thanks to you and Cheryl for the Pork Chile Verde and coffee. Both were eye openers :D and I enjoyed your company.

Craig C,
Keep your pecker outa the apple crisp and we won't have to call it short cake :grinpimp:

Again a truly great event, especially considering it's the first annual, with some of the best people you could meet, wheel with, eat with, and sit around a campfire sharing stories and a cold #6.
