Anyone have more detail on the install of one of these rear view mirrors? I did a search but there wasnt a lot of detail.

Concerned about the routing of wires into the headliner.... How do you get around the rubber gasket of the windshield?

And the splicing into the sunroof module?

thanks,

Curt

Ground from a handy bolt, constant hot from the dome light and switched hot form the sunroof motor. The windshield weatherstrip does not need to be disturbed.

thanks Dan. Is there enough length to route the temp sensor under the bumper or in the grille?
Also, if I only have the temp and compass I dont need to tap into the switched power correct? Just the main dome light power and a ground....

Curtis,

I have one w/o temp but had no problem routing wiring down the A pillar by tucking it into the gasket. I think I took off the driver's sun visor to get it under the headliner, then down the A pillar and it s/b easy to get your temp wire forward through the large round rubber grommet to the bumper. IIRC, the factory mirror attaches to the roof, my mirror (prototype from 13 years ago) uses a button on the mirror. So, I have a pair of screws where the factory mirror mounted and some day I'm going to use this strong hard point for an accessory like a CB, etc.
