NAV LOCKPICK
It is a little wiring harness with some kind of little computer board with some programming in it. Basically it automatically presses the "I agree" button and then also when you are in the Destination screen you press the thumbtack on the top left and it does the unlock programming so you can have full access to the Nav. I believe it also unlocks the Video (mine was already unlocked when I bought it) I will say that they are not very responsive if you try to contact them but they do take payments and ship your product.

What year is your LC? (edit--> saw 04 in above post, question answered!) Website says this device is only applicable to 2006 models.....

I have 05, will it work?

Also, did you install it yourself?

Their site is telling me that it works for 04-06. What are you looking at?

I second that - want one as well... please post results.

Jonah - you want to "share" one and we'll split the cost when I come out and look at your bumper ;-)

I'm getting a Sahara bar in about 3-4 weeks.... any luck with the new rear bumper piece? Shoot me an e-mail or PM

what's the verdict here? I have an 04 that needs to be upgraded.

Has anyone tried the "lock pik" Ipod integration?

Thanks for your input. You probably just saved me a couple hundred dollars.

Although I live in S. Ca in a home built in the late 1960's, my house isn't on my nav system nor is it on the nav system (gen 5) of the 2007 and 2008 RX's that I've had as loaner cars.

Kind of lame:confused:

My house is 70 years old, and the nav in my 2004 shows my address several hundred feet away. Also, I input an address the other day and it said it didn't exist. In an old area of town too.... I am not very impressed with the factory nav. so far.

I agree, my Garmin is doing a better job. I would like to update the system before I really pass judgement.

I agree with the nav part being off some my house is also close to 50 years old and is off a block (say s my house is down the street from where it actually is) I have also had some problems where it can not locate a certain address especially in new york which is really bad when you think about it. I dont actually think it is the nav unit itself just the programing and as for the gps the mapping may be off a bit. The dealership tried to sell me a update last time I was in but I dont remeber the price.

GearGuy,
Are you talking about the Coatal Lock Pick? That isn't an integration tool. It is just something that allows you to get rid of 90% of the annoying safety locks on your Nav. The model I got...

- automatically gets rid of the "I agree"
- allows me to use my phone and phone book while moving
- allows me (after waiting 2 seconds) to use my Destination input while moving
- I think it allows me to play DVD's while moving but I never tried that.

PM me if you have questions. It isn't the cheapest hacking in the world, but the easiest. Took me 10min to install.

The method of finding the location of an address on a street segment is pretty standard in the industry and the accuracy is usually more a result of the underlying data than the gps unit itself. As far as I know, both Toyota and Garmin use Navteq data. So I would *guess* that using data from comparable years on both Toyota and Garmin would give you roughly the same results as far as finding home addresses.
