Rubithon $70 shirt and dinner and pass are extra
GSMR $50 plus $15 shirt + $12.50 meal + $10 a day park fee
jamboree $70 + $35 pass
Black Hills Cruiser Classic $145 + $35 Pass
Souther Cruiser Crawl. Copied from there signup form

It cost a lot to be able to do one of these and try and make it nice. Gateway Cruisers have volunteered to offer breakfast Sat morning and we are working on a free Friday evening dinner.

guess thats why i have never been to ANY of them either

whats a shirt cost 4bux with print 7 bux
Dinner $4.50 (catered in X300 plates thats what we paid)
sorry i dont see it
whats the Day fee for the park ?
i was ivolved with running the frostbite for 3 year and the cost was not half this, with driver&pass, shirt, raffle, dinner yes all the goodies
and a dash plaques.
ok yes it was a one day show

i'm just saying if the price was lower it COULD draw more people
the last 3 frostbite runs we had over 200 rigs with close to 350 people there.

i guess my group just doesn't have the cruiser budget to spend on events

but then again this could be a great why to pick and choose

If there was a possibility of having 200 rigs then our price could be lower but TLCA events in this part of the country have never drawn that kind of attendance so we have to base our price on 50 to 70 trucks with smaller numbers being possible.

Second, as you stated you are not comparing apples to apples as this in not a one day event so the 4 day pass built into the event is a HUGE chunk of the money. We could knock this way down if it was a one day event.

Gateway cruisers are now offering a free breakfast Saturday morning and we are working on offering a free meal Friday evening.

Duane - I'd also have to disagree with your comparison. A one-day event at KS Rocks compared to a 4-day at SMORR is like comparing apples to oranges. Different venue, higher venue fees, and more days. What would Frostbite cost if it were 4 days?

SORRY
was not trying to turn this to a Debate !!
i just have guys asking me why it's so high
and the first thing i say is it's not a one day run !
and they say well we just want to run for one day not 4 !

Kan Rock $20.00

Hopefully you all can make it down! We can't do any deals on the price, the park has given us a flat fee for the 4 days.

SMORR is 20 for a day also, but its back to apples and oranges. I can go wheel lots of places for free or less money. This is different than just wheeling with your five friend. If thats what your interested in the it is very difficult to justify $90 verses free. On the other hand if you are interest in a Toyota Event with trucks from all over the area and farther, a chance to meet new folks that share a common interest, wheel with them, eat, drink, tell stories and many other things that most of us who go to these event relish, then the jump in price is worth while.

I am not trying to debate you, but I would love to see you give it a try. There is a reason folks drive hundreds, even thousands of miles to wheel at these events, and its not because of value or location. It the entire event.

Maybe you have been to a tlca event and you didnt enjoy it or dont see the value. But if you havent then its very hard to explain and justify the effort. You jsut have to give it a try.

Really hope you can find a way to make it out for several days.

cool
so we can come down and pay our 20bux and wheel for the day right !

And that's a prime reason I would never go back to frostbite, and can't recommend it. Waaaay too many people, and rude, stopping in the middle of trails to air down, taking 15 minutes, not letting others by. Only two hours total of wheeling because the line into the park was so long, the chow line from hell, having to leave at 5pm because there's a 3+ hour drive back, that took more like 5 due to the blizzard.

Sorry, but free/cheap isn't always better. I've got some harbor freight tools to reinforce this. Plus, there's no facilities at flatnasty (not so family friendly), no camping at kan rocks, and some fees to camp at tuttle, but the park size of tuttle and kan rocks added together are still smaller than SMORR. You could always send the cheap guys to kansas krawl, you could come scout things out, have a great time, relax, and who knows, maybe make a bunch more friends.

Hopefully you all can make it down! We can't do any deals on the price, the park has given us a flat fee for the 4 days.

See above, nice try though.

You have to remember, these events are family friendly. Not everyone loves primitive camping with no water, but families DO enjoy TLCA events because a great deal of effort goes into the planning, organizing, and offering more than just a place to bang your junk on rocks. The other events don't have the comradery, enjoyment, family acceptance or storytelling.

I hope you can make it Duane, I wouldn't mind talking to you about some ideas for the tacoma (as long as you don't put any of that green paint on it!) But if you can't we'll understand, hell it's the first one I'll make this year.

(I apologize if any feelers were hurt during the course of my dribble)

The larger events are not for everyone, nor are the larger $$ fee events. It is a matter of personal preference.

Ok, let's end the debate and move on to getting all of those planning to attend, but not yet registered, registered.

I will agree with Thad. I am driving 1200 miles one way from the east coast to come to a great event. I cant wait.

Just over 20 days till the event! Don't miss out on Rob's fire dancing! :bounce:

Correction, Mike and I will be there on Wed. I think Rob is planning on being there Wed. also. And what is this about Rob's fire dance? Or is it something a mother is better off not knowing? Thanks to Gateway Cruisers for offering to do breakfast, what a treat. We are still willing to help.

Newbie.

I am a speed car junkie but trying to get my feet wet with crawling. I am trying to attend the Seymore event. I am working on that Friday and Sunday. I am planning to attend Saturday event. Does the setup of the event allow for a single day attendance? I am looking for a entry level course. Your input and advice are welcome.

thanks

Since we aren't doing single day passes, would I would recommend is showing up on Saturday morning and hitching a ride with someone, there is usually seats open and we are a friendly bunch. That way you don't have to tear your vehicle up! :D

PM me if you have any questions. Hope to see you there.

Just a heads up, we will be putting the shirt order in on Friday, if you haven't already registered by then, we cannot guarantee the you will receive your shirt AT the event. We will be ordering some extras and try to accommodate everyone one at the event. We will be shipping t-shirts to folks after the event for those that don't receive them at the event. We will also be taking orders at the event for additional shirts.

Thanks!

Lance and I will be down Wed. evening. Really looking forward to the weekend. Alex might come down Friday evening. We will miss you Shannon and Chris.
Art, do we need to call ahead to reserve camping or are we the only group there that weekend?

Tent camping doesn't require reservations. Brandon has asked that we call for RV reservations.
