Any ideas on the best way to try to flush the gas tank out with out dropping the tank.

Did you just want to flush or are you trying to empty and reseal? If just flushing then you could just siphon it out, but it would be better to drop the tank.

Toyota is supposed to replace the tank on recall however they dont know when. I wanted to try and flush it out so I can at least drive it to the dealership. The tank appears to have a drain plug but I'm not sure if I should pull the plug

So I dropped off the 60 at STC toyota on monday and the service advisor tells me I should give up on it since its over 20 years old. I called his boss and its been on the lift ever since. I had no idea gas tanks were so complex

I just want to see how many of the techs need tetnus shots after they work on it.
Hopefully you didn't just open up the check book.

The tank and seatbelts are factory recalls according to the service manager.

Job is finally done and no charge plus they fixed the latch on the rear hatch. Now shes rollin again.
