I snatched a tank and skid plate from out west on car-part.com for $250 shipped a few years back. The seams rust out on these commonly in the rust belt. They create a really good place for a ton of schmutz to build up. If your tank is rusted it’s likely your lines are too. I got all new hard lines from Toyota for $146. That price included a new gasket for the sending unit and one for the filler tube/vent on the back. It’s not a crazy amount of work, but it’s also not super fun. Your filler tube could be rusted as well, I stupidly did not change that and now have a leak there that I have to deal with this week. So I would double check that. If you never have had a fuel pump change, now is the time while it’s out. Same with a fuel filter in the engine bay.
