i went wheeling today in my 87' FJ60 and whenever im in 4low and apply any gas especially when i'm going up a hill, the gas peddle sticks to the floor and it stays down until i clutch in... i also notice the shifters swaying back and forth alot, but i think that might just be torque from the bigger tires..
any idea's would be greatly appriciated
thanks

Check the cable and make sure it's not frayed. My 40 did that, throttle stuck wide open at a light. Thought I was gonna blow my engine. Fawker never rev'd so high and hasn't since.

Mine frayed and was catching on the hole in the firewall. New grommet in the firewall and a new cable fixed it.

I would be willing to bet money you have a broken motor mount. Sound weird? well what happens is, with the mount broke the motor torks lifting one side a bit and it binds the throtle linkage, when you push the clutch the engine sit back down and frees up the linkage.

Well did it fix the problem?
