Bad winter mileage

I get 15 MPG in the summer but in the winter I'm down around 12 MPG. I understand there is some differences in the additives but this seems like an extreme drop. Anyone else see the same thing?

I get 12-13, Year round, Hwy, City, Playing. Im not a heavy foot, tend to drive in my comfort zone depending on the elements and how I feel.

How are these numbers derived? Odometer? If so, are they corrected for larger tires?

I get 9.5 - 10.5 mpg, uncorrected, on a 94 with OME 850/863, rear bumper, and about 300# of stuff in the back.

There is quite a range in MPG. Drive lightfoot and easy around town and don't hammer the passing lane in a 80 and you should just assume you're going to put between 17 and 20 gallons of gas in the tank when the odometer hits 300 miles.

95, stock gears, 33's on steel wheels,sliders,ARB=10.5 corrected

winter fuel grade

I noticed the same reduction in my gas mileage this fall..I did a dizzy o-ring replacement at the same time and thought that I might have put it back incorrect. But i think it is the winter fuel.

Every time I drive across country from Chicago to Cali and/or Utah I always get 15mpg. This is with 33"MTRs (w/odometer ~corrected gear), front and rear bumper, stock gears, ipor skid plate, sliders, two winches (front/rear) and fully loaded down with camping gear, spare parts, supplies, recovery equipment (chains, hi-lift, etc.) tire chains, water/gas cans (full). I’m going to put it on a truck scale next time to see how heavy it typically is for these trips.

My driving habits = grandma...

I get about 8 MPG with 32's, 3FE, roof rack, heavy bumper, lift, etc... :hillbilly:

You don't buy a Landcruiser to save money at the pump... but it does a good job of getting you out to where there are no pumps and back again ;)

X2!!! All I know mine is I get a lousy mileage, but to save money on gas I bought a Honda Fit. For the fun factor I have two Cruisers!:D

I should have also added that I have regeared to 4.88s and I have full tube armor all the way around. For the last few weeks that I have been testing around town I have also been letting it warm up quite a bit and its been in the negatives so I bet I will get better in the summer around town. And don't think I drive like a grandma, I'm still just a young, dumb and full of c*m college kid that likes to hoss around, most of those around town miles are actually spent on the trial.
