...so had the gas leak-dealer replaced the rotted part from the gas tank -started another leak- apparently one of the units that snakes under the passenger rear side fender and connects to the charcoal canister had rotted away. I finally ( after working hours with them!) figured that it is a part that is available and ordered it....so for now they tapped the 4 units ( hoses) that come out of the gas tank that go to the charcoal canister till the ordered part comes in .

the issue that I am concerned with is that as there is no place for the gas to vent out of , not only there will be tremendous pressure building up inside the tank as the gas is used up while driving and possibly 'crush' the tank...? I replaced the gas fuel cap with a one that supposedly 'allows' for air to go in to balance of the volume of gas being used...but this morning when I loosened the gas cap got a tremendous whoosh!!!..so definitely big pressure building inside...should I just park it and wait for the part to come in ( takes a long time up here in Alaska!) or am I safe driving the vehicle without damaging the gas tank ( or any other component)?

Have you had the gas tank recall work done on it at the dealership? They will replace the tank and hoses for free under a safety recall.

I had a pressure build-up in my gas 70 series tank when an extra tank was fitted. The pressure build-up was from the heated gas coming back through the fuel injection return line. We do not have charcoal canisters in Namibia in our Land Cruisers, but there is supposed to be a vapour valve that will vent the excess pressure and retain the liquid fuel. When that is removed ( as was the case ) the gas vapours and sometimes gas droplets will vent freely through this pipe to the atmosphere causing a gas smelll when driving with the windows open and outside of the truck. Droplets will vent when the going gets rough. The vapour valve was not available seperately and I made a fuel air seperator ( that is what your 4 hoses are four). spliced a T from this vent to the the extra tank filler vent and so the vapour and gas droplets dropped into the extra tank. THe filler cap will relieve negative pressure in the tank, but not posituve pressure and you will probably need your 4 hose set-up with charcaol canister to have a functioning positve pressure release. Except if you can vent it into a reservoir. Good luck!! Took 3 years to figure mine out

What was the safety recall for the pressure build-up?

Yes gas tank recall was apparently done according to the records ( I am second owner).
