A fellow tlca member from charlotte here. I need to know if there is a shortage of gas down there along the 77. We are having all kinds of problems up here and im getting tire of chasing gas all over the city

I am off exit 1 (westinghouse) on I77, not a single gas station with gas off this exit.

It is bleak all the way to Rock Hill. Don't know past there.

In CLT proper it is pretty crazy. Some pretty entertaining videos of people fighting while waiting in line are floating around.

we are in the same boat in WNC. Truck rolls in and the lines form, an hour later no more gas.

The wife waited for almost an hour yesterday to be rationed only $20 worth of gas. She is driving a hundy. (not alot of help) There do seem to be a lot more cars just stranded around the city. Thank god we can take the light rail everywhere we need to go:rolleyes:

If the masses weren't such panic freaks and a little more calm, this would be a lot less of a problem.

I was talking to a guy who waited almost 4 hours to fill up and made sure to fill up 4 additional 5 gallon jugs at the same time.

I couldnt agree with more- everyone is topping off when they have a 1/2 tank.

Gas is getting scarce in Travelers Rest. Last night the first four stations the wife went to to fill up were empty - the one she finally found had a $20 ration. I found another station out of regular but that had plus closer to the house. They didn't have a ration so I filled up. Both station owners said people are driving down from Asheville to get gas. One guy just ahead of me in line wanted to buy 300 gallons.

What the hell is going on. We haven't seen anything like that on the coast. What are you guys paying? We are still around $3.70 down here.

When you can find it, its around $3.80ish. Last week when the rumors started spreading about a gas shortage some stations were charging $7 a gallon. Uncle Sam is all over those stations right now for price gouging.

And I thought we had it bad in the Atl burbs. Most stations here are out of gas most of the time, but it seems there is always one or two that have some... along with a long line of cars. last time I filled up, took 15 minutes in line, and they were out 30 minutes later.

Typical herd mentality just like the run on milk and bread when a flurry is forecasted.

i know they are fine more to the east it seems only the western carolinas are taking it on the chin. I found a solution to my problem for the time being though. we fuel our company trucks at purser oil fuel depot and the owner of our company is letting our employees fuel their cars there too using the company gas cards and just taking it out of our pay checks. no shortage and no lines at all

I was watching the news last night for WNC and they were saying that we were supposed to be getting a few deliverys to different pasrts of the city. Now if that lasts more than an hour or two i dont know, but doubt it. I talked with a mud member up in boone and they are out and having problems also. Time to start riding the mountain bike everywhere.

Tried to pull into a station this morning in the 62 (I didn't need gas...getting about 15.5 mpg:bounce:) and couldn't even get to the door. All I wanted was a pack of smokes and a cup of coffee! I guess it's a sign that I need to quit smoking, but I'm pissed as hell about the coffee! I did get a little pick-me-up though. When I just parked the 20yo cruiser a guy rolled down his window and said something like, "I felt pretty sure a truck that old would be limping in on fumes." I couldn't think of anything witty to make him fell bad so I just :meh:.

I wonder if these folks realize that they're using lots of gas sitting out in the road, waiting in line, and blocking my way to work/home.

Thanks for listening. Soap box retired (for now).

TR seems to be getting some more gas. I've cut out all optional driving for the time being. I swear people were driving slower yesterday too.

I thought the same thing last night. I jumped on the interstate to head home and passed everyone on there cause they were all doing like 40 MPH.

my gf went to 15 stations between commerce and atlanta and only found gas at one station,,,, we are paing around 4.10/gal

I was in Atl (Kennesaw) last week and people were making traffic jams etc trying to get in line, it was a mess. I still had 1/2 a tank so I just came home and didnt fill up until Anderson. I heard that Spartanburg and Charlotte were having issues to. Stoped in Columbia and a few were out but no issues at all in Florence. Doesnt make sense, but who knows. We have gas in Due West and Donalds. :)

Wish I was getting 15.5 mpg in my 80, its still doing better than the 62 but not by much.
