This thread is brilliant, one question though do you know if the front end with 4 square light fits on a vehicle that came originali with round ones?

Yeah I've seen the conversion both ways but you have to change the apron and it's not a straight swap job.
 
Oh yes this thread is brilliant. My imported 87 HJ60 is also G. Got the center console with the heater incorporated in it rather than under the seat like my Gasser USA 60. Got the push button 4H, got the beefier gusseted front axle like the 62, got rear axle sway bar found on 62's and shoulder belts in the back rather than lap only, got A/C but everything is manual, such as windows, locks and all. How can I check to see if I have an open diff or an LSD? Some marking on the rear axle? Also, most of the literature is in German, the owner's manual etc. Which leads me to believe that this was a European import. Also got the Aussie mirrors.

Hey crick60 would you have any pics of your white lightning and if its not to intrusive where is home (without being to intrusive mate. like close enough is good enough)
Not a great deal of pictures right now, just not enough time for show and shine and I like my GXL better.

Was there something specific you're looking for Dalton? I've got many many many photos and listings of other white lightnings. I think I'd know more about them than most at this stage.
 
LSD is marked on axle near the filler plug

Thanks, will check to see if it's an LSD. I knew the mirrors were European, someone contradicted me to the point where I believed them.

I'm chasing some decent pics of the pin striping down the side so I can get some remade also did the original have a turbo sticker on the back. thanks mate
 
I'll get some for you over the weekend.
I was also considering painting the pin stripe on because they all peel off like the Lightning decal. I was thinking about some kind of high res scan or photo or something.
I'm open to ideas.

The turbo decal on the back is the standard GX GXL HJ61 decal.
 
This is a 1989 FJ62 VX 3F gasser JDM A/C , console heat, no lockers, PTO winch, manual windows, electric rear door lock, it had a electric full door lock system but I pulled it when I had starting issues the unit did not look OEM it was a cool system it would unlock all doors when the drivers door was unlocked and locked all doors when drivers was locked.

Vx with barn doors and a low roof? Sure the previous owner didnt just get a vx badge to stick on?

VX is a interior spec.In the middle east they have the VX with low roof barn doors and dual AC.
