Hey all been wanting a 4 door wagon for a while as I have a BJ42 that is perfect for weekend and bigger trips by myself.
Planning on a trip around Aus in about 2 years so started looking for a 105 here with the solid front axle still. Wanted petrol so the conversion would be easier etc.
Ended up buying this one off a family friend who I had helped with it so knew the history and how tidy it was. I had put the lift in for him only a year or so ago.
I was telling him how I was planning a LS1 into my dads HZJ75 troopy when he decided he would do the same but get a shop to do it. He purchased the LS2/6l80e combo and sent it all to the shop.
Long story short, in the weeks it was at the shop he had a change of heart and decided he wanted to sell and I had always said I wanted first option.

Specs as I got it were:
2000 FZJ105 RV
Tough Dog 3" lift with King springs
Adjustable panhards, extended swaybars and brake lines
ARB front bar and Warn winch
Powerful 4x4 rear bar

Engine combo is 2006 out of a HSV here in Aus with 120K kms
Car has 260K kms

The conversion was running but not really what I would call finished and im pretty picky with things, especially since I was doing my dads truck and taking my time to do it right.

Check engine light was on constantly, it was running lean and engine bay wiring wasn't perfect. Need to sort out new bigger snorkel and better intake piping.

I spent the first few hours stripping all of the unwanted wiring I could find (brake controller, aftermarket cruise control and immobiliser, speakers and head deck, electronic rust protection)

Next was the pedal position. The FBW throttle bracket the shop made was so high and uncomfortable it gave me cramps to drive. So I made a new one that put it closer to the factory one best I could.

I then moved the PCM out of the glovebox and tucked it where the airbag would sit on GXL models as I could tell the wiring would fatigue as you open and close the glovebox.

Got a 3" exhaust put on from the gearbox back and they had just done enough work to mate to the factory system.

The PO had pulled all the carpet and put vinyl in which I hate and was really letting the sound and heat through. So stripped the inside and put dynamat all through and carpet back in.

Changed the tyres from 285/75 KO2's on factory 16x8 0 offset alloys to 315/75 Mickey ATZ P3 on 16x8 -25 steelies and sold the old ones for more than the new set cost me.

Started to baseline everything and started with rear hubs rebuild with all new bearings. Have got new brakes and the front to do.

Latest part was new suspension.
Opted for 4" Superior Engineering coils here which are a longer linear spring that is pretty new. Asked for the softest front they made as the engine combo is significantly lighter than the 1FZ and manual box.
11" travel new Superior monotube remote res shocks
4" airbags with Kevlar covers
Superior Engineering Superflex arms in 5" lift to give a bit more positive castor

Clean.... so jealous... just a few more years I have to hold out to get a 105....at least that’s what I keep telling myself

Soooo nice! Can we see under the bonnet?

managed to swap my rear bar with twin swing out for a kaymar bar with no swing outs and integrated towbar. Welded my own stub axle in then made up a tyre carrier. I wanted it central mounted so it wouldn’t block the tailgate lights and I like symmetry.
