My limited undestandibg is that a member must be a current YT member and a TLC A member. Someone nominates and then seconds it. If no one is nominated then volenteers are excepted.

If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

They don't need to be a TLCA member if they don't own a Toyota (I'm not all about the TLCA these days). That's in our bylaws.

I'm confused as to how to proceed here with the future of the club.
I understand that the new private forum is being constructed/updated.
Is this where we'll have discussions on the vote and the future of the club?

I'm also concerned on the timeframe.. Nominations in October/voting in Nov.
Isn't tomorrow October 31st!?

I'm not bitching, I'm just confused/concerned as to where we go from here.

To be honest I can't make any sense of the by-laws. I've read them several times and find them very confusing.

With the voting taking place in May it was seen as being very problematic on several fronts when a new BOD was taking office especially if it was one completely new.

Registering for trail runs with the NEA, LMFT and Field and Forrest all start in Jan so the club would be short on events unless the incumbent scheduled them for them. Also the lost time to prepare for those events was also seen as a waste. Most of us are the busiest with vacations after the June.

Initially it was thought to move it to the Fall Gathering but then with everything else going on we decided it best for it be after the FG and allow people to discuss this during it. And have the elections afterwards.

To be honest I thought that the elections were in Dec with the transition to take place by Jan 15th. My apologies for that.

This year the transition wasn't complete until late in July. With basically a new BOD and no experience running the FG we were all slammed at trying to put it together. I realize that people were frustrated and that goes for us as well. While we did vote on moving the vote to after the FG at the spring meeting we should have reinforced that prior to the FG as well.

Our initial idea was to use the email as not everyone regularly comes here. Just like not everyone goes to the spring meeting. So I wanted to ensure that everyone had the chance to express themselves and vote. With the push for a member only section on MUD it seemed like a good time to try and make use of it to get everyone involved in the election process.

In my personal life I tend to approach goals with a very flexible attitude as far as adapting to changing conditions and ideas. This doesn't seem to fit well with the rigid nature of the club. I understand that now and it would seem that I'm not a good fit for this position.

Ballots go out in Nov, by Nov 15th. Elections are to be held by Dec 15th

Elections will be held via email. The private members only area is for discussion of club business so membership can be informed.

Ballots were just sent out to everyone's email address. It is being conducted through survey monkey, but the email came from me thechillone@sbcglobal.net Please respond any time polls close at 5pm on December 15th. If all responses are received prior to the 15th I will post the results early. If you are a current member and have not received a ballot please send me a pm

My fellow Yankee Toys brethren, thank you for your votes of confidence in the upcoming terms Board of Directors. More importantly, I want to thank Rick, Niall, Jim B., Will, Ed, and Russ for their hard work and continued efforts to steer the ship and keep Yankee Toys running and successful. This club is a great group of wonderful folks, working together to keep a bunch of crazies wheeling, wrenching, wrecking and sometimes washing our Japanese junk pots. There are many underground aspects that are necessary and important to keep the wheels turning and I respect and thank anyone and everyone that volunteers their time and effort to keep us rubber side down.

I thank everyone that stepped to the plate this year to give their time to the club. I'm looking forward to this year's club activities and encourage each and every one of our members to come to a trail ride, join us at a trail cut, tell a friend about the club, share your ideas whether you think they're wonderful or whacky! This is YOUR CLUB!!! Take full advantage of it. The BOD is here to hold the wheel, but please remember that each and every one of you are the components that make this Cruiser Club running and wheeling.

I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you. Thanks to all for believing in all past BOD members and continuing to support the club.

LETS WHEEL!!!
