4WD Photos @ 4WD Links :: Carl's Videos from North Jetty Rescue 6-10

You might find these vids curiously funny and sad.
A friend did a rescue out on the North Jetty beach here at Humboldt Bay. Someone trying to launch PWC's off the beach in less than ideal condtions. Trying to tell Carl how to do it.
You know, be carefull at the beach. It doesn't forgive.

Sorry. I haven't been able to or had enough time to try a different approach.
The jist is someone tried to launch a PWC from a trailer towed by a, like a Liberty or something, and had poor luck.
The vid shows the rig 125' plus 3 snatch staps out in the surf with it's roof underwater intermitently.
The difficulty was the windows were up and it was in park and all that saltwater and sand locked everthing up tight as a drum. Guess the guy had to break a window to get in.
They managed to get it up to the high tide line with the help of another winch.
That's where they left them.
Sad but true.

Ok, so I have my computer back and I can 'do things' I couldn't with the loaner.
Here's the link to the pics and a description from Carl: 4WD Photos @ 4WD Links :: Calr's Rescues (Lost Coast 4x4's)

I put them on my Youtube here.
The first two up are the rescue vids.

As you can see, these guys didn't give much thought to their endevors before hand.

Wow.

I'd really like to hear the account from the U-Boat Captain's point of view.

Can you imagine the sickening feeling of slowly realizing you're in deeper, and deeper, and deeper doo-doo?

Makes me barfy just thinking about it.
