Ever since I bought my LX, the ventilation system seems to have had a stale smell with the A/C on (recirc and fresh air). More recently, I get what could best be described as a BO smell (mildew?). I swear I shower regularly (every third Friday whether I need it or not) so I don't think it's me. I thought I once heard that there was a TSB relating to this. Is there a DIY solution or is it better handled by the dealer?

Thanks!

(dumb question)
Is an unusally large amount of water coming from the A/C after parking any cause for concern?
(Yes I realize the A/C is supposed to leak water/condensation)

Thanks

I wouldn't think so unless your humidity is 10% and you're dropping a couple of gallons or something. The quantity of water depends on the humidity. The other consideration would be if your system wasn't operating properly and it was icing up, then all the ice was thawing. That could indicate you were low on refrigerant or another problem in the A/C system.

The icing up part is actually what I was worried about. However, the performance of the system has been great. Probably just a sign that I'm trying to hard to find something wrong.

It sounds like the condensation is not draining all the way out and therefore mildew is developing. I would check to see if the condensation drain was not partically plugged.

Mine lets out a considerable amount of water, both wile driving and shortly after parking, but the humidity bounces off the 100% mark almost daily here in the summer

also like most other vehicles mine can get a smell, especially when it is first turned on, turning off the ac and leaving the fan running a minute or two to dry the evaporator before shutdown almost eliminates any smell, if there is a lot of buildup of dust and mold living on it on the evaporator it could cause that smell, cleaning and doing a proper shutdown should cure the problem

FYI, great way to avoid this is every time you use your truck and have on teh ac, to switch it to external air for the last few minutes of the ride. Keeps is smelling fresh unlike yo momma.
