fulltime 4wd from 80 series - will it fit?

I have found a 3F engine, 5 speed gearbox and full-time 4wd transfer case from an 80 series. I wondered if this would fit in the 60 series..?

I have a 3F engine and 5 speed gearbox mounted to the 2wd/4wd transfer case (with solenoid operated 4wd-high).

What do you reckon? I'm tempted, i prefer the idea of permanent 4wd.

I thought they share the same boltpathern to the tranny thinking in a H55F but due the lenght diferent lever linkage and sure DS front and rear lenght .. Crossmember may vary etc etc etc ..

just curious, what benefits do you see in full-time 4wd? i would think it might hurt your fuel mileage a iittle bit.

no reason it can't fit.

It just is a lot of work to get installed..

Hi Buffalo, i found this 60 on Australian Ebay with all of the 4wd system, and with the 4.2ltr diesel engine in. The difference here is the original 80 turbo was replaced with one from the 12 HT 4.0ltr turbo diesel engine.So therefore this possibly can be done.
