After several weekends of wrestling with sediment in my carburetor's float bowl I decided it was time to clean out my fuel tank and lines. Peeking inside the tank is in good shape but there is some debris in there. This is a plus, a good cleaning and I should be back in business.

But hang-on, not so fast. Like all projects while pulling the tank I noticed another issue. There are a multitude of hoses protruding from the tank that the PO capped off. Looking at the diagram below the capped lines are (3) Fuel Separation Lines and (1) Fuel Return Line.

I am concerned that these capped lines in conjunction with a non-vented gas cap have created a closed system and will ultimately lead to vapor lock.

Q: Will these capped lines interfere with fuel delivery or create any other problems? If so, what should I do about it?

I found the answer in a response from @73FJ40 in this post:

A: Cap off the extra tank lines and add a vented gas cap (or drill holes in your existing cap) to prevent vapor lock.
