Since I had my fuel tank out and drained, I decided to see how calibrated the fuel level sender was.

Full tank is 23.8 gallons per everywhere. I started at 8 gallons:

Essentially, I would say the fuel level gauge is properly calibrated at the top end with a spare "reserve tank" of 4 gallons below the bottom of the empty line.

Did your low fuel light come on when the fuel got low? Happened to me once.

To be honest, I didn't even know this truck had a low fuel light. I've never gotten on the empty bar line ever.

I just did this test, because I had the tank out anyway, and it helped me kill time at the gas pump. I figured it would be good info for anyone on here.

I didn’t either until one day……didn’t run out but it did come on and I found the next gas station quickly.
