scottm said:Bro, you advanced the timing on my '97 same as yours. Last night I finished a tank on my O'Hare & back run, 15.3 mpg. That's on stock tires, fighting rush-hour traffic and cruising 75 - 80 mph (mostly 78 mph). Check engine light on, probably running open loop for the O2 sensors. I've seen 16 mpg at lower speeds, heavily loaded with the cargo box on the roof. The 40th always seemed to get worse mileage with it's knobby 265s.
s'not. I replaced two O2 sensors before the trip, they were running open loop with steady CEL after that, so unless it's healed I suspect it's still open loop. maybe. I'll change out to Denso sensors asap, see if that helps.Gumby said:If you were running in open loop on your O2 sensors, your OBDII CEL would be flashing.
