I have researched, read and researched some more and need some insight before I search any more or make a decision. Background, it is not subartic in Christina Lake BC (0C to -20C); however, I do travel to colder cities in the winter (-20 to -30 C) and over high elevation passes. I am not running bio yet but would like to soon, so I am doing some changes now to less the costs later. I would like to replace my fuel lines with either Artic Fox Hotline® Electric In-Line Fuel Heater Arctic Fox Hotline Electric In-Line Diesel Fuel Heater or Racor THERMOLINE ELECTRIC HEATERS THERMOLINE ELECTRIC HEATERS - Parker . I am not sure what sections of the fuel line are most beneficial to replace, tank to engine compartment, tank to filter, tank to pump, tank to injectors.
Next challenge is to decide how best to warm my fuel filter and fuel tank, jury is still out pending fuel line decision. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Cheers,
Sheldon

great read

Hi John,
Thanks for the great read. I have read similar articles and wow... that would be my dream, producing/running/sharing/selling my own bio; however, I have neither the time to convert my only vehicle or the space to set up my production shop. Maybe in the next few years I will get to that level; however, baby steps right now.

The point of the reference was not to make your own biodiesel, but rather the simple cost effective methods used to heat the fuel system. The fuel line heaters you're suggesting are not the best option.
