My service advisor recommended a Fuel Induction Service for my '99 (and '98). He gave me the canned explanation, but I thought I'd get some inputs from the forum.

So, is it worth the $79.95 or can I accomplish the same thing with some DIY PM?

Thanks in advance.

Is this the procedure where they hook up pressure lines to the fuel rail and run solvent through?

Could be, although he made a comment about taking the (air) intake hose off and cleaning out any deposits or build up. Assuming what you have described is it, have you had this done?

I haven't had that one suggested to me yet. CDan probably has the best resources to find out what that entails.

I was told that 08813-00080 works just as well, but someone may chime in here. The dealerships no longer run this cleaner (08813-00080) through anymore and do the more expensive gadget hookup.

I havn't done the gadget thingy so have no idea about the results, but I do run the Toyota cleaner through.
