You know the washers that go on the ends of the fuel lines into and out of the filter? I need some and can't seem to find the right ones.

They seem pretty important too. With one missing (two?), I spray fuel everywhere.

Assuming you mean for the filter on the FJ62, yes you need 4 total. They are a soft copper gasket, you could take one to NAPA and see what they have to match. Or, the Toyota part number is 90430-12005. When you buy a new filter from Toyota, it comes with 4 new gaskets.

And a hint for those who need to re-use those that they have. Heat them up with a propane torch until they turn color, then drop them in a cup of water. That will anneal them (unlike if you did this to steel) and allow easy re-use of them. They sometimes won't re-seal if this step isn't done.

Now I'm just stumped. i have new grommets, but its still leaking out of both sides. I can't figure it out.

Any other suggestions?

These are new copper washers?

My first suggestion is to anneal and re-install them. See my post above. The bolts should not need to be more than snug.

While they're out, check all of the mating surfaces for flatness and lack of scores or gouges. They may need a little clean up with a flat smooth file, but be careful of where the filings go.

They aren't copper, but they're the ones that came with the filter (I found them).

Find some that are either copper or aluminum. The whole point of the washer is for it to crush and form a seal. Steel won't do that unless it is like those tubular ones used by VW on their air coolers, and those are only good for one use.
