What is the fuel filter set up on a petrol version? I need to add a pre filter to my diesel fuel line as I intend to run on Biodiesel.
I have traced where the fuel pipe leaves the fuel tank to the sedimentor - it then continues along the chassis rail and pops up next to the engine. There is then a small length of rubber hose bridging the gap to the engine, where it returns to a metal fuel line into the hand fuel pump - and then on to the filter and then the injector pump. Is this the same set up with the petrol motor?
The best place to cut into the fuel line to add another filter looks to be the piece of rubber hose. If I cut this and run a line to a filter mounted in the engine bay, am I going to need another hand pump to remove any air from the fuel line (as in the factory set up)?
This all seems a bit problematic and it would be great to get some ideas if anyone could suggest a solution...
Cheers, Jim
