1990 prado with 4.2 liter turbo - curious on what it might get. Auto transmission.

Do you mean a 2.4 liter turbo diesel? That is the engine that came in the Prado; the HZJ77 wagon came with a 4.2 liter NA engine.
I get ~19mpg US with my Prado, and a little better on the highway. I am running 31 inch tires and have a roof rack.

When you get pictures make sure to post in the US 70 series registration. I am curious to see your rig.
I get between 10-12l/100km on the highway. 13-15l/100km in heavy city traffic short trips. 15-17l/100km towing a 16' 3500lb camper trailer. I drive it pretty hard. Not really a stock rig. Stock mileage was a bit worse though.
