I would like to buy the FSM for my Fj60, 1983. What manuals are available, what are really really necessary and all that. Is the Haynes manual any good. I found one site that listed the Body and Chassis manual for 160 dollars. Where are some good, CHEAP places to get manuals. Thanks, eric.

I have the Haynes manual, Chilton manual, Max Ellery manual. The Haynes is the best one out of the 3. I haven't had the chance to compare the Haynes to the FSM, but I assume the FSM is the best one of all.

get fsm from c-dan, you cannot go wrong. if you are going to own your cruiser for any amount of time it will save you lots of time and money in the long run.

Download the Chassis/Body off of birfield.com. Print out the sections that you need (most of the ones you'll need to use will end up getting full of slime/grease etc) and toss them out if you ruin them. Sucks to pay $$$ for a nice manual only to bugger it up. I sprung for the Emissions and 2F manual from C-Dan and they are the best you can buy. Emissions is priceless. The 2F manual, luckily I haven't had to use much, but the Carb and Starter rebuild sections are worth their price in gold.
