ok i need to get one of these.
i got ahold of toyota today they had three.
1. engine
2. chassis and body
3.emissions.
which one has the suspension and driveline stuff? and are these the ones that everyone here holds so dearly around here? i want to get the most complete manual i can

its a 60

the "big one"

you want the "big one" - the Chassis and Body manual...

the others are invaluable, too...

Get all three. But yeah, the Chassis manual is what you are after right now for everything but the engine.

ok thank you. i am going to get both right now then. i wasnt sure which one the drive train is in. as i need the engine one too. the lady that i was talking to did not understand what i was asking her

Get'em all..if you can..

If you're getting them...and you can...get all three. The emissions manual makes sense of all the 400 miles of vacuum hoses, etc...

yah i was just thinkinig that. its only 9 bucks

the body and chassis one is i think $59 or so. the engine is $25 and the emission one is like $9. i dont know about shipping. going to call them later and order.

For the FJ60 there are 4 manuals that I have...

1. 1984 Land Cruiser (Heavy Duty) Body and chassis (Pub. No. 36262E)

2. 2F Engine Manual (brown cover Pub No. 36104E - Aug. 1980)

3. 1981 2F Engine Emission Control Repair Manual for US and Canada (Pub No. RM36043)

4. April 1985 Land Cruiser Repair Manual Supplement for Chassis and Body - FJ60 Series (Pub. No. 35274A)

These are all necessary, in my opinion.

My engine manual is a green cover. I think that it's different than my rig though, possibly for the 40 series 2F. Still essential.

I have a supplemental and it has missing info that didnt make it or was updated from the other manuals, I cant remember EXACTLY whats in there cause I have never had to use it. But I can check.

The other thing I like to have on hand is a SOR catalog. I like the breakdown of parts and I am more like to scribble notes on them and get 'em greasy....

What's covered in the supplement?

The 1981 2F Engine supplement covers the emission control system. ESSENTIAL!!

The April 1985 Land Cruiser Chassis and Body Supplement covers A/C, some updates to suspension and alignment, and has an updated wiring diagram for the FJ60 (gas) models. Useful for A/C repair.

I got hold of the microfiche in PDF file. It's great when you work on something and can see how everything goes together. They show part numbers as well.

yah the supplemental one is included now

This is a French site. You'll find all the microfiche for the different models along the left hand side from about half way down. Once you click on a link it will take you to a page that displays all of the pictures separately, BUT down at the bottom of most pages there is a link to a PDF file. Right-click and 'save target as'.

Each PDF file (for the 6series) is only small (less than 1.44 mb I think).
'carrosserie' must mean something like 'brakes, transmission, etc'.
There are very few words, and they are in english, also seems to cover different countries.

This site has the manuals, but they aren't very efficiently made as the the page pictures are way too big, resulting in huge PDF files. 100s mbs!
I have gone through their PDF files, extracted and reduced the sizes of the pictures, cleaned them up, and now am in the process of putting them all back together as PDF files (separate PDF's for each manual section), so that will make the manuals open up more quickly.
Once they're done I might be able to send them to someone that wants to host them.

BTW: I think that the first site might have links to the EPC (electronic parts catalogue). This is a program that allows you to enter a part number (or your cars model number) and find some info about the parts (including some microfiche pics). I haven't found this program that useful BUT it may be able to tell you what other Toyota models use the same part that you are referring to!!!
