$15,900 OBO or trade. 1987 Land Rover Defender 110 Soft-top convertible. 2.5L Diesel, 5 speed, Right hand drive. Fully refurbished by the British MOD between 2007-2009 via the Tithonus Life Extension program which included:
-Complete body respray.
-Full mechanical refurbishing.
-Suspension upgrades and fitment of wolf wheels with Michelin XZLs.
-Full safety devices roll cage, body reinforcements, exmoor seating front and rear with shoulder belts, and sound reducing matting.
-New heavy duty soft top installed.
Unlike many defenders this truck is rust free and amazingly clean/straight. The rear cargo area has been coated in bedliner for protection and easy cleaning. This truck can get 25 mpg, and it tops out at about 65mph. Much smoother ride than a Jeep, great for kids & dogs, would also make a great ranch truck.
These ex-military trucks are getting hard to find, and the soft tops are even rarer. NAS spec trucks are bringing $50K plus. This is a great way to drive a Defender at a reasonable cost. Some companies are re-painting these trucks, putting stereos and big tires on them and selling as "beach trucks" for $35K plus.
Truck with come with a clear TX title and has passed inspection. Will consider interesting trades - built 80 or 100 series, FJ40 or troopy, RV, Sportsmobile or other something else fun that I haven't thought of.
