Can we see the results of the work out for said machine? I mean he previous owner must be so chiseled there is no longer a need. Maybe before and after pictures.
Dude, those showing are made by appoinment only at a high cost and you are the wrong sex to be on the receiving end. 
I see this type of machine in homes frequently and most are in "like new condition". Anymore I view them as an expensive cloth rack.

Used it everyday when I got home for a long time, now I have a gym down the street at no cost. I could see a guy like yourself using it for a clothes rack with your Fred Flinstone profile.
If it had worked you should be able to carry it to the lucky buyer

Your gonna need help getting off the floor Fred. Buy a BowFlex to hang your clothes on because I KNOW you are not gonna use it
