FS: 1987 4runner ***SOLD***

I have two many vehicles, so I'm considering thinning the heard a little.
This might just be the cleanest 4runner out there for the price. It has about a 2 year old paint job (silver) w/ gray interior. Dash is in great shape with no cracks, there is one little bad spot on the pass side. BFG All Terains, soft 8 black steel wheels with tube bumbers and nerf bars. Runs good, top is in great shape and does not leak. Tinted windows, CD player, it has one bad rubber seal that the drivers windaow rolls in, but will be replacing that. This truck is garage kept and never off-roaded.

Mileage? Interior shots? Engine?

I posted a link above with interior shots....

It has 260k, the only flaws on the truck are a small spot on the dash pad, and about a 2" crack on the bezel around the shifter, both detailed in the pics.

The truck has been babied and never off roaded, I want to keep it, but it's time to send my FJ to the paint shop and prep her for the RamJet...:grinpimp:

Thanks. Sorry I missed that link.

At 260k, what has been mechanically? I would hope you have changed the TC and all related PM items.

I am asking because I am interested in your truck-been looking for a similar year 4 runner

Not much, the last owner supposedly put a timing chain and guide set on it, but you know how that is.... Who's to tell if he really did or not.

At 260k I would imagine some slapping would be going on if he had not though...

The motor in these are really irrelevant, I used to work at a Toyota/Lexus repair shop, swapping these motors takes me all of 4-6 hours, and a complete rebuild only costs me $700, so I focus more on the rest of the truck. What I'm trying to say is, sure it's high milage, but motors can be replaced ina day cheaply, while finding 22 y/o trucks in this condition is not so easy...

Not to mention I'm a Toyota nut, and my daily driver is a 83 Celica with 420k on the origional 22r block. These motors just keep going....

So I tend to drive them till they quit... Then revive them. :D

Like I said, HATE to sell it, I've owned 3 of this body style 4runners, and none could hold a candle to how clean this one is.

I baby it so much it's rediculous. I just bought my wife a Infinity FX35, which sits in the driveway so that this truck can sit in the garage. My neighbor got a kick outta that... LOL

Nothing to hide, I know it's high priced, but I've seen them sell for anywhere from $2500-$4000 in not near as good of shape as mine, so I feel like $5000 isn't unreasonable, especially with $1700 worth of Mastercraft seats with it.

If your close enough to come by I'd love for you to come check her out, you won't be disapointed.

The ONLY reason I'm selling, is to give attention to my FJ... You don't know how bad I want to keep them both, but it's just not practical... I spend way to much money on things, I was about to order a Can-Back top for it, that would've been $1500 toward my FJ paint... LOL

Thanks man.

I am not close-unfortunately. And I am not interested in the seats-just dont need them.

Please shoot me a price based on keeping the seats. If that is not an option, dont worry about it. I dont have 5k to spend on an 87 runner. No offense to your truck. Just a budget and I have a extremely clean 92 Toyota Pickup so I hear ya.

Thanks man.

You should be able to get $5K or very near it if you're not in a rush to sell. That it worth every penny of $5K. Don't let cheap-o's on the board tell you otherwise. Goodluck dude

I hope you are not insinuating that my post indicated a "cheapo" comment.

That was not my intention.

Juke

Don't worry, I'm not offended by any comment at all... I'm a cheapo myself, there's nothing wrong with getting that good deal. I also understand the budget...

I'm not really interested in coming off the price too much though, I feel the truck is worth it, and seeing that I'm not toting a note on it, I'm really not in a hurry.

I'll take $4500 w/o the seats, I was just throwing them in b/c I have a couple sets that I got a smoking deal on, and don't need two sets of suspension seats...

If it was an 85 SR5 you would probably get $4000 (that's TOP DOLLAR) around me. There's a guy in my area with an 88 as clean as yours with 130k, lifted/locked etc. and can't get anyone to bite at $3500. Maybe things are different down by you, but you would never get close to $5000 in my neck of the woods.

Tell him to put it on eBay, it'll be gone for that, fast... Look on there what ratty ones are selling for.
