Frozen Transmission - HELP!

My stock 4 speed transmission on my 74 FJ40 is stuck in reverse. I have never had any trouble with it in the past. It has been parked in the unheated garage for many months, and probably not moved in 3 months. It starts up fine, but I can't move the shifter. If I engage the clutch it stalls out under the force of not wanting to move. As I said, I've never had trouble like this before, even over the years when it was stored outside and in the dead of winter. It has been very very cold recently, but the past 3 days have been into the 40's. Any ideas? I'd start by throwing some heat near it, in case it is literally frozen (assuming there is water in the transmission fluid?), but I have a bit of a fuel leak as well. Any ideas?

Remove the shift stick, use a screwdriver(through the stick hole) to realign the slots in the shift fork rail..

Is it in 4WD? Did you drive it with the front drive engaged and bind up the drive line? If so, unlock the hubs, roll the truck a little, maybe even jack up a wheel or an axle and see if that frees up the drive line. If that doesn't work, try the previous suggestion.

Got It...

I guess it must have serious water in the transmission fluid or something because a combination of heat and rocking freed it up. First I was able to get it out of reverse and it was stuck in neutral for a bit. Then after a couple of minutes it started to move smoothly through the gears. Now it is like it never had a problem. Does this sound likely?
