Front winch hitch adapter idea

This is just an idea ,please tell me if it is a bad idea. I want to get a piece of 1/2" thick by 5" wide by 3' or so wide iron, drop my current factory front recovery points, put the iron in and then reinstall the points with the bolts going through the iron. Then I want to bolt a 5000lb bumper mount hitch reciever to the iron cross piece. It should hang down just below the bumper. Then I can do a hitch mounted winch when I need to. Good idea/bad idea? Not really worried about the loss of ground clearance
