What's the go-to torque on a front wheel bearing preload? My passenger is loose and I need to tighten it up.

Factory spec is 47in lbs. I found that inadequate after a few hundred miles, and went with 25ft lbs. This was per the Tools R Us recommendation on the main board. Now I am enjoying better handling, still spins smoothly.

25 lbs, perfect thank you. I did the fish scale FSM setting 60K ago and it's been fine but that 393 run loosened it up. I plan to just go with 25 lb now and when I repack them in a few months with the birf overhaul.

Are both nuts 25 lb or just the inner nut?

Inner nut goes to 47 ft#, spin the hub each drection.
Back the inner nut off.
Repeat the 47 ft# and spin.
Back the inner nut off.
Tighten inner nut to 25# (factory spec is only 47 in-lb)
Lock washer in place.
Tighten outer nut to 47 ft#.
Bend washer tabs.

This put me at the upper limit of the fish scale spec.

Great, thanks Pitch!
