front, upper shock mount

hi there,

the front left, upper shock mount on my 60 has broken off at the top of the mount.

I have a new OEM shock mount, how do you fit the new mount ?

does it have to be welded in place?

do i just grind the old one off?

Yes, you want to weld the new mount on it. I am not sure the best way to remove the old one.

Actually, I think you can just drill or grind the heads off the rivits, and it will come right off the frame. Then you can bolt the new one on, although welding would make it a stronger joint.
