How much front axial play is okay? The only thing I can find in the FSM is "minimize" axial play. Essentially it looks like it is based on the snap ring width on the bearing and clutch to "minimize." I looked through the FSM and searched but I cannot find a spec. I just replaced the front bearing and seal and there is still some axial play - I figured it would be nearly gone...Thoughts?

It is a ball bearing and not a tapered roller bearing, so it will have some wobble. The back end of the output shaft is also piloted in a roller bearing in the main shaft, so there should be very little play with new bearings.

Makes sense. That said I have an HF1A. It hits a pilot bearing but doesn’t go as far back as the HF2A.
