Stupid question I can't seem to find an answer to... Need to tackle the front shock replacement. Any special tools required (odd size sockets, etc.)? Is there a write up somewhere I've missed?

Just did this 2 nights ago. Be glad you dont have AHC.

If you are replacing the strut, its faster and easier to simply drill a 3/8" hole through the upper shock body about where the pipe wrench is in the pic above. The hole needs to be offset so the drill misses the piston shaft. Run a 3/8 socket extension through the hole and it will prevent the shockbody from turning, which frees up a hand and makes everything easy.

That would work too, of course :-)
The shock body is fairly light gauge, so its hard to get a decent hold with your pipe wrench [or anything else]. Once you apply pressure, it just bends.
