You will not be able to use the slimline with the factory rack. I had my factory rack removed when I repainted the truck. The rack is pretty close to the roof at its lowest point.Quick question,is the slim line the lower version? If so, much higher is it over the factory rack?
I'm thinking of getting the lower model but I didn't know how it compares to the factory rack.
Thanks!
Oh I'm sorry I wasn't clear. Yea I meant when I remove my factory rack how does the front runner compare to the factory height. Sounds like it's close. You will not be able to use the slimline with the factory rack. I had my factory rack removed when I repainted the truck. I'm asking because I have about a 3" gap now btwn my factory rack and my garage. I was hoping the Front runner slimline was close so I can still park in my home garage.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out!You can also mount the tray upside down and gain an extra inch.
Search for my 97 LC build thread. I have pictures of the clearance in there somewhere. I also have a very low garage, in fact I rub slightly on the weatherstripping when pulling in.
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out!
