I've been thinking about this, a selectable locker in the rear for a DD in places that get a lot of icy roads would be a good thing. I had some sphincter tightening moments last winter driving my FJ60 with a Detroit locker in the rear.
I did the detroit thing in the rear and limited slip in the front in the 80s.On my hunting trip came across ice on the road touched the brakes a little bit all 4 locked up ,that was a ride.Took the limited slip out of the front after that.We have ARBs now and would go that route for sure with me anyway.

since I have PS, I'm gonna install the lockright in the front and see how it goes.....I would much rather have another ARB in the front but $$ and the fact that i have a lockright sitting on my workbench doing nothing tells me to just install it and play with it...I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes

I see you live down here in God's country with me (no seasonal snow) I have lock-rights front and rear and they work fine on the Rubicon, Fordice, Dusy, Barrett etc. Yeh, sometimes I have to back and fill. Where they don't work is on-road snow. I lived in Albuquerque and locked and trying to make a right turn at an intersection was a lot of fun. Kinda crabbed all the way to the opposite side of the intersection. If you live in snow country you may want the selectable locker (Air, etc) up front so you can steer.
