If knuckle grease has been sucked into the diff because of blocked axle vents or pushed through due to overfilling, are the seals trashed or will they still be OK after the problem has been sorted & the diff flushed a few times & refilled?

I say they would be R.S. and need changing. Most likely need to repack knuckle housing anyway which means removing axle.
Next step is inner axle seal.
Mad not to in my opinion.

Usually if grease gets in the diff oil the diff oil can also get into the grease. So when you repack the grease replace the seal. Might pay to undo the felts or something to see if the grease has been diluted by oil. If they have, bad luck they need doing.

Good advice while you have the knuckle apart replace the seals even if they look fine. They cost bugger all and it beats having to strip the hubs down again if they do leak.
