Front grill and light swap.

How hard is it to change the 4 square headlight grill and cowl to the 2 round headlights grill and cowl of the FJ60?

I do not know how involved this swap is as I have never owned a Land Cruiser. Just curious as I am looking. I know on the 79 to 80 Dodge trucks when they changed from single roudn to double square headlights, you would have to swap out the whole radiator core support or weld bracket on the newer one. I did not know if this one was as involved as that or not. I prefer the older classic look of the FJ60 but see a lot of nice 62's, but don't care much for the quad square lights.

I think the front of the front fender is a bit different as well as the front bumper. If you had the entire front end from a donor vehicle and a bunch of time to kill, you could probably make it work.

There would be wiring issues as well - 4 plugs down to 2.

there has been alot of discussion around this and i believe the concensus is that it is more trouble and and expense than it is worth. If I remember correctly, fenders and the front radiator support are different, as well as the front valence. I think some have said the fenders could be modified to work with the 60 components but i can't remember exactly. Try running a search, you should be a abel to didg up some more info.

Fenders won't be a problem, but you'll need the radiator supports (both sides and top), the front valance under the lights, the grille and headlight mounts. Best way to work this out is if you have a parts truck to do it.

I've been meaning to do this for a long time, I just haven't come across decent parts for decent prices, and I have a long list of modifications before I get to something like this. In the meantime, it stays with 4-rectangular lights.

No, not really, the 3FE with all the harness? 'Sides, I like my FJ62, mine's non-US with a 3F, H55F and fully manual t-case. I just have a soft spot for the classic round head lights and would like to do the swap before I re-paint the Cruiser in the next few months.

If anyone has the radiator support mounts and the front valance, let me know what you want for them. I can probably source the grille and headlights locally.

I have the radiator support mounts and valance if you need them. Also front fenders, grill and light doors(Painted silver, tho). PM me if your interested.
