SILVER Star
Hey, folks! Yesterday I had a failure of the front driver window on my '99 UZJ100. I hit the button to lower it, heard a weird noise, and the glass pitched forward and stopped half way. I tried moving it up and down but there was something clearly wrong. After removing the door card, I noticed that the glass was off the channel on the front, the scissor portion of the window regulator was tweaked, and the glass panel had popped off of the black plastic piece that connects it to the regulator. These plastic piece mounts to the end of the scissor portion of the regulator with a 10mm bolt and to the glass with some sort of goopy black RTX looking stuff that was pretty dry-rotted.
Here's my question. Do those plastic pieces come with the glass itself? I searched several online parts diagrams and the part is not listed separate from the glass. I obviously don't want to buy new glass unless I have to but I am not sure how to reaffix the little plastic piece to the bottom of the glass. Right now, it's popping off when I try to lower the glass, most likely because the scissor portion of the window regulator is tweaked. I am going to order a new one to replace it.
Thanks in advance for your help, I have a UZJ100 in the garage with a grenaded front diff and now my daily driver UZJ100 has a buggered front window just as a rain front hits Central Texas for three days!
