Can the community help me with information on the Factory service procedure for installing a new window regulator using the original motors? I have searched and its seems the correct procedure is not documented well and the FSM is confusing (or perhaps I am missing the rights pages).

I removed the old regulator/motor assemblies with the windows in the fully up position. I then pulled the glass out of the frame from the top and the regulator/motor out though the door. I replaced the rubber window guide/seals in the door frame but have not yet removed the old motors from the old regulators. The FSM mentions match marks but I am confused as to where these would go. Do I need to power the motor to move the regulator to a certain position before I separate? What about the spring in the center of the regulator, do I need to pre-tension somehow?

Closing the loop on this. I paid close attention to the location of the regulator arm attached to the motor relative to rest of the regulator mechanism. When the motor is detached the spring tension will relieve but as long as you have a good hold on the regulator it won’t snap hard. One does need to pretension the new spring but it’s an intuitive process once you commit to matching the as removed orientation.
