Maybe some think it's ridiculous to carry a gun in the truck with you but this is why I do carry mine.

I guess I'm about to turn this into chat but people around here don't like it when you trespass even if accidentally. My dad's friend's son, a guy I graduated with, and a mutual friend of these two guys were shot and killed for trespassing about 5 years ago. My uncle has been threatened to be shot for appearing that he was going to cross the fence line at our property on to the other guy's hunting land. Some of the places I go are secluded and some are bad parts of the neighborhood which is why I feel better having my gun with me too. Shooting someone is a very last resort that I'd do anything to avoid.

Anytime I leave my side of town I carry a 9 in the center con. You never know when some jackass is going to do something stupid. North Charleston is the 4th deadliest city in America, someone is shot every day, its insane! The craziest thing happened earlier this year when a Mayoral Candidate got in a gunfight at a gas station, he shot the kid 8 times and he survived.

I fully support carrying firearms for self defense. 100%. Nothing very bad has ever happened to me, but I know it could, and it's not paranoia. It happens to hundreds of people a year, and I refuse to become a statistic.

I carry my .357 SIG with me anytime I go into an area that I am unfamiliar with, or when I go through major cities on foot. ESPECIALLY when I'm with my girlfriend.

That console is hideous. The only things I would have changed with it to make it more friendly on the eyes would have been to round the corners off a bit, and cover it with something other than rough high traction coating, which you DO NOT want near your skin... in the heat.
